It was great spending the last two weeks with these makers and to have the chance to see their creativity. We talked a lot about persistence and the ability to persevere through the challenges of projects that come up as well as not being afraid to ask those around you for help. If you would like to do more projects like those we did with your child, you can find resources on make.com. This website not only project ideas but also some of the science behind the project as well. Today students finished up art bots, t-shirts and stop motion animation. Pictures of our makers are below! Thanks @MakerCamp and @Strawbees for ideas and materials! We were super lucky to be a Maker Camp Affiliate fro 2015!

Group two to film their animations was determined not to be out done by the frist. Enjoy! The last two days we talked about stop motion animation and art bots. Both were big hits. See the post below to experience some of our animation talents! Makers the last few days tried their own hand at stop motion animation using ipads and Stop Motion Studio. They had their choice of props, drawing, or using real people to create and tell a story using the app. Today students learned about closed circuits, leds, and how to make glow in the dark pin-pong balls, light up bookmarks and light up greeting cards. Students also explored snap circuits, little bits and other ways of making things move and light up. During the past week in design lab makers worked hard to complete challenges in teams. We worked on Minecraft, 3d printing, drove the Sphero, Ollie, and Ozobot and built with Strawbees. Makers showed perseverance and determination when things didn't work exactly as planned and really helped each other trouble shoot. Thank you @Makercamp and @makestrawbees for your help and materials! |
